Ride the state-of-the-art revolving cable car to the top of one of Africa’s most iconic mountains: the 3560-ft tall, flat-topped Table Mountain. Enjoy spectacular views of Cape Town city, Devil’s Peak, Lion’s Head, Signal Hill and the glittering Atlantic ocean on a clear day as you go up to the Table Mountain. Once at the top the panoramas are rewarding in all directions of the Cape with many natural splendors to enjoy: Table Mountain is a wild park at the top with sheer cliffs, plentiful botany, silvery forests…and eagles flying below.
Keeping an open plan is essential as weather can be tricky – if you catch a clear day during your stay in Cape Town, make Table Mountain a priority visit! Once the ‘tablecloth’ of clouds and mist descends the mountain is obscured and those already at top see nothing but the blankness of white fog.
In summer the first cable car goes up at 8am and the last one comes down at 10pm.
Do pack a warm jacket and stable, comfortable shoes as the climate at the top is cold and windy regardless of season and the terrain is rugged in most parts along the walking trails.
